Rickmansworth Update
Some progress photos from a recent site visit to this project in Rickmansworth. With the precast units to the second floor recently landed, work continues apace on what will become a four storey, 75 bed care home.
The project is being built by Lawrence Baker for NL Care and will be operated by Quantum Care when completed.
ARC Engineers have undertaken all Civil and Structural Engineering services on this project, which presented a number of challenges.
Most notably, the site is located above a principal aquifer, which meant it was not possible to use deep piling. ARC were able to use their experience with such conditions to offer a number of alternative foundation options, which resulted in the final foundations being formed using Controlled Modulus Column, Rigid Inclusions to enhance the bearing capacity of the ground. Specialist site works were undertaken by Vibro Menard.
